In July, the Ministry of Defense did not allow the supply of 209.3 tons of low-quality and dangerous products intended for the Ukrainian military. UNN reports this with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

Details

Reportedly, most of the products - over 182 tons -  were not allowed to be delivered to military units.  Another 27 tons of substandard food products were found during direct inspections at the units.

Every hryvnia of taxpayers' money spent, including on food for the army, should be used to the maximum benefit. That is why the Ministry of Defense pays for services only after the products delivered to military units have passed the appropriate quality and documentation checks, as required by financial control

- said Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Dzhyhyr.

In June, the Defense Ministry inspectors prevented almost 340 tons of low-quality and dangerous products from reaching the army.

The State Operator of the Logistics said that the quality of food supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is controlled at all stages.

If a military unit receives substandard products, the head of the food service must draw up a report. In such a case, it is possible to bring the unscrupulous supplier to justice.
