French President Emmanuel Macron said he spoke with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and offered Madrid assistance amid the sudden migration crisis in Ceuta. He reported this on social media X, writes UNN.

Macron said that in his conversation with Sanchez, he expressed solidarity and offered "all necessary assistance," including through the EU agency Frontex.

I welcome the ongoing cooperation with Morocco, thanks to which more than 40,000 returns from Ceuta to Morocco have already been ensured today. Our interior ministers will be in touch to closely monitor the situation

Emmanuel Macron also emphasized that it is impossible to enter the Schengen area unimpeded from Ceuta – controls are carried out at the border with mainland Spain. 

He also noted that France has already taken additional measures to strengthen border controls with Spain, in addition to those that were in place in previous years.
