Filming of the movie "The Wizard of the Kremlin", where Jude Law plays young Putin, has started in Riga. The first photos of the actor in the image of the dictator on the set have appeared.
Filming of the new film "The Wizard of the Kremlin" by French director Olivier Assayas has begun in Riga. The role of the Russian dictator is played by British actor Jude Law. The first photo from the set has appeared online, UNN reports with reference to Russian media.

The start of work on the film became known in May 2024. Director Olivier Assayas worked on the script together with Emmanuel Carrère. British actors Jude Law and Tom Sturridge, American actors Paul Dano and Zach Galifianakis, and Swedish actress Alicia Vikander got roles in the film.
In January, Jude Law, who starred in the films "Sherlock Holmes" as Dr. Watson, "Lord of Time, "The Grand Budapest Hotel", "Guardians of Legends", "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", "The Holiday" and others, agreed to play the Russian dictator at the beginning of his career. The actor shared that working on this character will not be an easy task for him.

Today, the first photos of the actor in the image of Putin appeared online. They show Law in a suit and a black cloak, in which the Russian dictator often appeared. Earlier, UNN wrote that the film "The Wizard of the Kremlin" is based on the book of the same name by Giuliano and Empoli. The plot takes place in the 1990s. The main character is television producer Vadim Baranov, who becomes a political strategist and concentrates enormous influence in his hands. The prototype of Baranov is considered to be the former assistant to the President of Russia, Vladislav Surkov.
