Andriy Shevchenko was nominated by all 14 permanent members of the UAF for the election of the president of the Ukrainian Football Association, scheduled for January 25, 2024.
Famous footballer and former coach of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Shevchenko has been officially nominated as a candidate for the post of president of the Ukrainian Football Association, UNN reports.
As of December 12, 2023, the administration of the Ukrainian Football Association received the minutes of the meetings of the governing bodies of the 14 permanent members of the UAF. All of them nominated for election as president of the UAF Andriy Mykolayovych Shevchenko (date of birth - 29.09.1976), winner of the 2004 Golden Ball, Hero of Ukraine, awarded the National Legend of Ukraine award

The UAF Executive Committee, on the basis of appeals from UAF members and in accordance with the Charter of the Ukrainian Football Association, approved a decision to hold an extraordinary XXVI UAF Congress on January 25, 2024 at the Football House (Kyiv, starting at 12:00).
The agenda of the congress was also approved, one of the items of which is "On the election of the UAF president".
According to the charter, any legally capable person under the age of 70 who is a citizen of Ukraine and a delegate to the congress can be elected president of the UAF.
"A candidate for election as president of the UAF is proposed by any permanent member of the UAF and must have the minimum support of at least 1/3 of the permanent members of the UAF," the Statute of the Ukrainian Football Association states.
As you know, 27 organizations are permanent members of the UAF. Accordingly, 1/3 is made up of nine of them.
