Ukraine allocated an additional 8.3 million hryvnias to the security and defense sector

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated 8.3 billion hryvnias from the reserve of funds provided for 2026 for the security and defense sector. The funds will be directed to defense and security needs, monetary support for military personnel, strengthening the material and technical base, and intelligence capabilities. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, as reported by UNN. 

The government allocated 8.3 billion hryvnias from the reserve of funds provided for 2026 for the security and defense sector. Funding will be received by the SBU, the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the State Protection Administration, and the State Special Communications Service 

According to her, the funds will be directed to defense and security needs, monetary support for military personnel, strengthening the material and technical base, and intelligence capabilities.

Addition

According to government order No. 640-r of July 1, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 8 billion 280 million 469.1 thousand hryvnias. Of these: 

To the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense - over 2.3 billion hryvnias, of which - 987.3 million hryvnias for wages, 100 million hryvnias - for utilities and energy, over 1.6 million hryvnias - for payment of monetary support to military personnel, 150 million hryvnias - for the purchase of fuels and lubricants, and 940 million hryvnias - for the purchase of intelligence means;

To the Security Service of Ukraine - over 4.6 billion. Of these - 1.9 billion - for the execution of operational and combat tasks by units of the Security Service, including regional units of the Special Operations Center "A", in particular for the payment of monetary support to military personnel, 85 million for payment of utilities, 25 million hryvnias - for the payment of one-time financial assistance in connection with the death of military personnel, 873.7 million hryvnias - for the purchase of fuels and lubricants, over 1.3 billion hryvnias - for the purchase of weapons, military (special) equipment, ammunition and components for them. 

To the State Protection Administration - over 413 million hryvnias. Of these - almost 260 million hryvnias - for wages, 18.3 million hryvnias - for material and technical support, 76.3 million hryvnias - for the purchase of military (special) equipment, 14.1 million hryvnias - for "other areas";

To the Foreign Intelligence Service - 510.8 million hryvnias. Of these - 208.3 million hryvnias - for payment of monetary support to military personnel, 10.4 million hryvnias - for payment of utilities and energy, 292.1 million hryvnias - for the development of technical intelligence systems;

To the Administration of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection - over 312.2 million hryvnias, which will go to pay monetary support to military personnel. 

Reminder 

The Verkhovna Rada adopted in its entirety the relevant draft law (No. 15224) on amendments to the State Budget for 2026 regarding the increase in expenditures on security and defense.
