A 61-year-old man who stabbed a border guard with a knife while trying to bypass a checkpoint has been detained in Zakarpattia.
Border guards in Zakarpattia detained a 61-year-old man who tried to bypass a checkpoint, caused a conflict and wounded a border guard with a knife. This was reported by the press service of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine-Western Border, UNN reports.

It is noted that the offender stabbed a border guard of the Mukachevo detachment, who had returned from two combat rotations from Donetsk region without a scratch.
A resident of the Transcarpathian village of Bushtyno decided that the checkpoints were for everyone but him. The burly 61-year-old man did not comply with the requirements to stop and tried to escape from law enforcement. When his car was blocked, he locked himself inside and began arguing with the border guards through the open window, calling their actions illegal. At the same time, the driver tried to create maximum discomfort for other road users by blocking the road. He argued with the drivers and passengers of other vehicles, called the police, and when the investigative team arrived, refused to communicate with them,
After almost 3 hours at the checkpoint, the border guards used physical force and handcuffs to detain the burly man who resisted.
Border guards drew up a report of administrative offense against the detainee for violation of the border regime and malicious disobedience to border guards. A report was also sent to the National Police on the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 345 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Threat or violence against a law enforcement officer".

In Odesa region, on July 14, border guards stopped a car with five people, two of whom tried to escape. One of them attacked a border guard, who responded with a weapon, and the offender died.
