In the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, on July 23, a man who was wanted for threatening a police officer was detained. During the arrest, he wounded an employee of the TCC and SP with a knife, after which a police officer shot him in the leg. This was reported by the press service of the Kharkiv region police, writes UNN.

Details

It was established that on July 21, near the bus station on Aerospace Avenue, patrol police officers together with servicemen of the TCC and SP stopped a man for a document check. In response, he pulled out a knife, behaved aggressively, threatened those present and a police officer, in particular with violence, and, taking advantage of the situation, fled the scene.

On July 23, during the arrest of the said man, he resisted law enforcement officers, pulled out a knife and inflicted knife wounds on a serviceman of the TCC and SP. In addition, the attacker attempted to inflict a knife wound on a police officer.

In order to stop the illegal actions and avert an immediate threat to the life and health of people, the police officer, in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Police", used a service firearm, wounding the attacker in the leg. All victims were provided with the necessary medical assistance.

The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. 

Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code. Necessary investigative and procedural actions are ongoing.
