The agency explains that the disease is caused by a tick bite. . The disease affects the human nervous system, heart, musculoskeletal system and skin.
It is noted that most cases of Lyme disease are recorded from May to November. This is the period of highest activity of Ixodes ticks. Only a third of patients can recall an episode of tick bite. The incubation period is from 1 to 45 days (7-14 on average). The susceptibility of people to the disease is high.
