According to Chinese state television, the bad weather also forced about 400 people to leave their homes. In addition, at least 48,000 residents were evacuated in the southern province of Guangxi due to Typhoon "Mayak".
Bloomberg reports that Super Typhoon "Bavi" is approaching Taiwan and southeastern China. According to the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center, its maximum wind speed reaches 250 km/h, which corresponds to a very strong Category 4 hurricane.
According to the forecast of China's National Meteorological Center, the typhoon will reach Zhejiang province on Saturday, maintaining the status of a strong or super typhoon. Wind speeds are expected to reach up to 187 km/h, and heavy downpours will cover the eastern regions of the country.
Earlier, "Bavi" passed through the US territories of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, where it caused power outages and damage to power lines.
