Hungary claims "new evidence" in the case of Ukrainian cash collectors

The Hungarian government stated that the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary (NAV) has released "new evidence" in the case of the seizure of Ukrainian armored cash-in-transit vehicles and the confiscation of cash and gold on March 5. This was announced by Hungarian government spokesman Zoltán Kovács on the social network X, writes UNN.

Details

It is noted that investigators established that the armored vehicles allegedly transported "newly printed euros and dollars."

Kovács claims that the banknotes never entered circulation. According to him, they are "linked to a number of banks, including the Ukrainian Oschadbank, as well as financial institutions in Poland and Gibraltar."

Among the evidence is a video allegedly showing a former Ukrainian intelligence major general falsifying documents in a gas station restroom, while his accomplices discuss corruption-related payments. The cargo amounted to about $40 million, 35 million euros, and 9 kg of gold, the origin and destination of which remain unclear.

- the report says.

According to him, NAV "requested international cooperation and rejected accusations of illegal actions, emphasizing that all investigative actions were documented and carried out in accordance with the law."

Recall

Oschadbank announced the unfounded detention of two armored cash-in-transit vehicles and the disappearance of seven employees in Hungary on March 5.

As reported by UNN, seven employees of Oschadbank's cash collection service, who were returned to Ukraine, were in a severe emotional state, and one of them experienced an exacerbation of a chronic illness due to the experience.

Oschadbank noted that the total value of assets in the two armored cash-in-transit vehicles amounted to 40 million US dollars, 35 million euros, and 9 kg of banking gold. The bank will consistently defend its interests in all international instances.
