Government introduces compensation for employment of people with disabilities

Employers will be compensated for workplace accessibility and employment of people with disabilities. Different types of compensation are provided depending on the disability group and employee status.
To support the employment of people with disabilities, the government has introduced compensation programs for employers. UNN writes about this with reference to the Ministry of Reintegration.

It is noted that employers receive different types of compensation.
In particular, employers who hire people with disabilities of groups I and II and equip workplaces to meet their needs are compensated by the state:
- for the arrangement of a workplace for a person with a disability of group I - up to UAH 106.5 thousand;
- for the arrangement of a workplace for a person with a disability of group II - UAH 71 thousand.
Another compensation stipulates that for the employment of persons with disabilities who have the status of registered unemployed, the state compensates 50% of actual labor costs, but not more than the minimum wage (currently 8,000 thousand hryvnias). The total period of compensation during the year is 6 months.
In addition, an employer who has hired an IDP with a disability may receive compensation in the amount of the minimum wage for 6 months.

Compensation for the employment of combatants, those who have no more than 5 years left before the right to retirement pension and citizens who have been registered as unemployed for more than 1 month is UAH 8 thousand (50% of actual labor costs, but not more than the minimum wage).
