The president of the Bavarian Brewers Association said that retail beer prices in Germany have become too low. A case of beer can be purchased for between 5.99 and 9.99 euros in various stores.

“My brewers get angry when a case of beer is offered at the ridiculous price of 9.99 euros,” said Georg Schneider.

However, BILD found that 10 euros is far from the lowest price for a case of beer. For example, the cheapest box of 20 bottles of Feldgold beer in a Metro store costs only 5.99 euros. For 7.99 euros, you can buy a case of Oettinger Hefe beer of various varieties in the same store.

In popular stores such as Rewe or Edeka, you can buy 20 bottles of Beck's, Hoffmann, Löwenbräu, or Warsteiner beer for only 9.99 euros.
