Ukraine's Energy Minister says the country can make it through the winter without power outages, barring massive strikes or natural disasters. Recent adverse weather conditions have caused power outages, but restoration efforts are ongoing.

Ukraine is ready to go through the winter without power outages if there are no massive shelling or natural disasters. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.

In fact, today the only reason for blackouts is really weather conditions. In principle, I have always said that we are ready to go through this winter and if there are no massive strikes that will have a dramatic impact on the power system or natural disasters, there will be no outages

- Galushchenko said.

He noted that the weather conditions are indeed very difficult today.

"Just this week, the elements raged in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions. Today, it has moved to the west of our country, and this really affects the fact that there are blackouts and a large number of power line breaks in the western part of the country. But in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv regions, the power supply has been restored, and there are isolated cases where the restoration of power supply is nearing completion. We will be actively working in the west of Ukraine," said Galushchenko.
