The wolf, named Noikgu, was found early on Friday morning, April 17, on a hill near a highway. Drones, police, rescuers, and veterinarians were involved in the search.

After returning to the zoo, the animal was examined by veterinarians. Its condition was assessed as stable. During the examination, a fishing hook was removed from the wolf's stomach using an optical device.
No other serious health problems were found in the animal. Daejeon city officials also published rescue videos showing the wolf being pulled from a ditch and taken to the zoo.
The story of the wolf's escape and return sparked significant interest in the country and made it a local celebrity.
