Divers of the Special Purpose Center of the National Guard of Ukraine "Omega" destroyed a Russian Su-24M bomber at the "Saky" military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. This was reported by the Commander of the NGU, Oleksandr Pivnenko, reports UNN

Our special forces of the CSP "Omega" destroyed a Russian Su-24M bomber at the "Saky" military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. The successful operation was carried out by combat divers of the Special Purpose Center of the NGU "Omega", who once again confirmed their ability to deliver precision strikes against priority enemy targets deep in its rear

- Pivnenko reported.

He noted that after identifying the relevant target, a thorough planning of the operation was carried out. At the moment when the aircraft was preparing for a combat sortie to deliver further strikes on the territory of Ukraine, "Omega" attack drones struck the target.

The first UAV hit the nose section of the Su-24M, the second delivered a repeated strike in the area of the fuel tanks, ultimately causing its destruction. This result is yet another confirmation that the National Guard of Ukraine is systematically increasing its capabilities for using attack unmanned systems at a significant operational depth

- Pivnenko added.

Addition

The Su-24 is a Soviet supersonic front-line bomber with a variable-sweep wing.

The Su-24M modification has an improved sighting and navigation system, which gave the aircraft the ability to use guided missiles with laser homing heads, such as Kh-25ML/MR, Kh-29L/T, Kh-58.

Ukrainian Su-24M aircraft received a modification that allows the installation of Franco-British Storm Shadow/SCALP EG missiles.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the war, Russia has lost 437 aircraft. According to OSINT analysts, Russia has lost 15 Su-24 aircraft of various modifications.
