An explosion occurred at the D66 party office due to pyrotechnics in a mailbox. Police have detained a suspect; no one inside the building was injured.

On Thursday, May 7, a powerful explosion occurred at the office of the D66 party, led by Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. This happened after a pyrotechnic device was thrown through the mailbox. A suspect was subsequently detained, UNN reports with reference to nos.nl.

There were people inside the building at the time of the explosion. They were not injured but were shaken. Rachel Smook, chair of the party's youth wing, the "Young Democrats," reported that the explosion shattered the glass in the upper part of the door and caused a significant amount of smoke.
The leader of the D66 party, Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten, called the incident a "cowardly act of intimidation."
