Western European countries are asking Brazil to act as a mediator in peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. Brazil maintains a neutral position and engages in dialogue with both the West and Russia.
Western European countries are approaching Brazil with a proposal to become a mediator in peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. This was stated by Brazilian President’s special adviser on international affairs Celso Amorim, UNN reports, citing Toda Palavra.

He explained that Brazil advocates a multipolar world order without automatically siding with either party to the conflicts. Amorim cited Brazil’s prominent place in global diplomacy as an example of the advantages of this positioning.
I have personally been approached—by the president in some cases, and by other officials in others—but I can say that, as far as I know, ambassadors and ministers from Western European countries are asking us to engage in dialogue with Russia because they say that Brazil is one of the few countries that maintains dialogue both with the West and with Russia
He emphasized that "Brazil maintains a position of neutrality" and advocates greater international cooperation without interference, while preserving national sovereignty.
