Electric scooter rentals banned in Chernivtsi

On August 10, the Chernivtsi City Council terminated its memorandums with Bolt, Vevi, and Jet.ua following complaints about parking and traffic violations. The companies have 14 days to remove the scooters; otherwise, they will be forcibly relocated.
The Chernivtsi City Council decided to terminate cooperation memorandums with electric scooter rental operators due to residents’ complaints. This became known from a live broadcast of the council session. 22 deputies voted in favor of the decision, reports UNN.

Electric scooters can no longer be rented in Chernivtsi. The city council adopted the decision to terminate the memorandums during its session on August 10. The operators concerned are Bolt, Vevi, and Jet.ua. 22 deputies voted in favor of the decision.
The companies were given 14 days to completely remove the electric scooters, charging stations, and other equipment from the city.
The main reason for the decision was the numerous complaints from Chernivtsi residents. People complained about the chaotic parking of electric scooters. In addition, regular violations of road safety rules by riders were recorded in the city.
If the companies fail to comply with the requirement within the specified 14-day period, then the vehicles will be forcibly moved to a temporary storage facility.
