Opening the meeting, Duda emphasized that NATO must remain strong, "resilient" and ready for anything today. According to him, the Alliance must fulfill its commitments made at successive NATO summits.
I want to propose in the near future, now, during our visit to the White House, and I will talk about this with all our other allies, including the NATO Secretary General (Jens Stoltenberg - ed.) at NATO headquarters, that NATO countries jointly decide that the Alliance's requirement will be to spend not 2 percent of GDP on defense, but 3 percent of GDP. that this will be the limit below which it is strongly discouraged
Addendum
The Polish leader emphasized that NATO countries should strengthen their defense, because no one would dare to attack a state that is ready to defend its borders.
Duda added that today Poland is becoming such a country "thanks to the realization of this most important task that we face."
As was done by the previous government, despite the changes that occurred as a result of the elections that took place last October, this great work is still being done, for which I thank the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister
