Dollar and Euro officially drop in value: NBU releases exchange rates for May 8

For May 8, the NBU set the dollar exchange rate at 43.80 UAH and the euro at 51.54 UAH. Both currencies lost value compared to the previous banking day.
As of Friday, May 8, the National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rate at 43.80 hryvnia per dollar. The official rate on Thursday was 43.85 hryvnia per dollar. The official exchange rate of the hryvnia to the euro will be 51.54. This is reported by UNN with reference to NBU data.

The official dollar exchange rate is: 43.8033 UAH (-5 kopecks) per dollar. The NBU also set the official euro to hryvnia exchange rate at: 51.5433 UAH (-7 kopecks) per 1 euro. The official zloty exchange rate is: 12.1947 UAH (-1 kopeck) per 1 zloty.
According to data from specialized websites, as of 08:00 on Friday:
- in banks, the dollar is trading at a rate of 43.57-44.05 UAH, the euro at 51.32-51.85 UAH, and the zloty at 11.80-12.40 UAH;
- on the interbank market, the rates are 43.81-43.84 UAH/USD and 51.58-51.60 UAH/EUR.

The National Bank of Ukraine downgraded its inflation forecast for the end of 2026 from 7.5% in the January forecast to 9.4%, and Ukraine's GDP from 1.8% to 1.3%.
