Details
Ukrainian tennis player Diana Yastremska has successfully started her performances at the 2024 Olympics with a strong-willed victory in the first round match. In a thrilling fight, Yastremska defeated Brazilian Laura Pigossi after three tense sets.
This victory is particularly significant for Yastremska, who last participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where she failed to make it past the first round. In the match in Paris, the Ukrainian showed high concentration and endurance, which allowed her to take revenge on Pigossi, who had previously defeated Yastremska in Bogota in the 2022 season.
Yastremska will continue to compete for medals at the Olympics.
