The level of desertion among the Russian occupation army is increasing: more than 18,000 Russian servicemen have left the service in the combat units of the Southern Military District without permission, including about 12,000 from the 8th Combined Arms Army and 2,500 from the 58th Combined Arms Army.
Desertion is flourishing in the armed forces of the southern military district of the occupying Russian army. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, UNN reports .

It is noted that in total, more than 18 thousand Russian soldiers have left the district's combat units without permission.
The lion's share - about 12,000 fugitives - falls on the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, which the enemy constantly uses in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. Approximately 10 thousand of them were drafted by Moscow through mobilization. The remaining 2,000 are contract soldiers,
In the 58th Combined Arms Army, which is also part of the southern district of the aggressor state's army, the desertion rate is about 2,500 people.
