Defense Express suggests that German RCH 155 self-propelled guns may already be in use in Ukraine
Kyiv • UNN
GDLS has called the RCH 155 artillery module a combat-proven solution. This indicates the likely use of the 54 units ordered by Ukraine at the front.

German RCH 155 self-propelled artillery systems, which were previously ordered for Ukraine, are likely already in service with the Defense Forces. Defense Express drew attention to this possibility following the presentation of the new Canadian GRIZZLY LAV SPH self-propelled gun at the CANSEC 2026 exhibition, UNN reports.
Details
General Dynamics Land Systems Canada presented the GRIZZLY LAV SPH, a 155mm wheeled self-propelled gun based on the LAV family of armored vehicles with a 10x10 wheel configuration. The artillery module for the new system was developed by KNDS, and it is the same module that forms the basis of the German RCH 155.
In its presentation materials, GDLS referred to this module as a "combat-proven solution." Defense Express notes that this may indicate the combat use of the RCH 155 in Ukraine, as there have been no other known instances of this system being used in real combat conditions.
Ukraine is set to receive 54 units
The publication recalled that Ukraine ordered 54 RCH 155 self-propelled guns on the Boxer chassis back in 2022, and the first unit was formally handed over in early 2025. Although there is no official confirmation of the combat use of these systems, the authors of the article believe that the mention of "combat experience" may be indirect evidence of their appearance at the front.
In addition to Ukraine, the RCH 155 has also been ordered by Germany and the United Kingdom. The German army plans to receive 84 such units, and the British army 72. Meanwhile, a custom version of the system on a locally produced chassis is being offered to Canada.
