In the Lviv region, a truck crane collided with a train; a veteran locomotive driver was killed, and it was initially reported that the assistant driver and the driver were hospitalized.
According to the Main Directorate of the National Police in the region, the accident occurred today, May 1, at about 06:00 at a railway crossing in the village of Hirne, Stryi district.
According to preliminary information, a collision occurred between a KrAZ truck, driven by a 64-year-old resident of Drohobych, and a "Kyiv-Uzhhorod" train. As a result of the impact, the train derailed.
As a result of the incident, the train driver died on the spot.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident; the issue of legal qualification is being decided.
