Early Wednesday morning, at around 4:30 a.m. local time, the Border Police reported an alert over a bomb threat at Chisinau International Airport named after Eugen Doga.

Border Police officers promptly intervened to evacuate passengers and staff from the airport. Specialized units of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs were working at the scene. The check-in procedure was suspended, and warnings were issued about possible changes to scheduled flights.

About three hours later, at 7:30 a.m. local time, the Moldovan Border Police reported that "the checks conducted by specialized teams had been completed, and the report received at Chisinau International Airport named after Eugen Doga had not been confirmed."

"The airport's operations have resumed as normal, and passengers may continue their journeys," the statement said.

Passengers were advised to check their flight status.
