Case management in social services to be introduced in Ukraine

Currently, a new subsystem of the Unified Social Sector Information System is being developed - electronic case management. The system is being piloted in four regions, and its nationwide implementation is planned in the coming months.

In Ukraine, the development of a new subsystem of the Unified Information System of the Social Sphere - electronic case management, or case management - is underway. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, UNN reports.

The ministry explained that case management involves a coordinated approach to providing social assistance and support to a person or family in difficult life circumstances. It is about identifying their needs, developing an action plan and coordinating all the specialists who should be involved in solving a particular problem

In other words, a person applies for help, and a case manager develops an action plan to address a specific request and, if necessary, involves specialists from other areas, such as medical professionals

Supplement 

Electronic offices for social service recipients, social service providers, and case managers will also be created. The Ministry says that each person or family will have a card with a social history.

Beta testing of this system is currently underway in four pilot regions - Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Poltava, and Cherkasy. The Ministry of Social Policy is confident that in a few months case management will be scaled up to the whole of Ukraine. 

As a reminder

The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the possibility of using paper declarations for importing humanitarian aid to Ukraine until April 1 next year. At the same time, starting from December 1, recipients can start using a digital mechanism to import humanitarian aid.
