Canada lobbies for permission to strike Russian territory with long-range weapons

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly supports Ukraine's use of long-range weapons against targets in Russia. The United States has stated that Ukraine does not need permission to strike Russia with its own weapons.
Canada is trying to convince other states to give Kyiv permission to use long-range weapons to hit targets in Russia, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said in Montreal, where a conference on the Peace Formula was held. UNN reports with reference to Radio Liberty.
We approve of Ukraine's use of long-range weapons against targets on Russian territory, as Ukraine needs it for self-defense. We are also trying to persuade other countries to adopt this position

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department stated that Ukraine does not need permission to strike targets in Russia with its own weapons. The US is considering additional tools to support Ukraine, but does not comment on restrictions on long-range strikes.
