EU Diplomacy Chief Josep Borrell said he had discussed DPRK and security issues with South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, urging Seoul to step up support for Ukraine amid Russia's involvement of the DPRK military, UNN reports.

"I met Defence Minister Kim Yong Hyun on DPRK & other common security challenges. Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is an existential threat. The Republic of Korea is best positioned to understand it. We are united in our support to Ukraine. I encouraged them to step it up," EU Diplomacy Chief Josep Borrell said in X, who is on a visit to South Korea.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Russia has moved more than 7,000 DPRK soldiers closer to the border with Ukraine, arming them with "infantry-style" mortars, assault rifles, machine guns and other weapons.
