The Deputy Energy Minister warned of a possible return of heat-related blackout schedules. The power grid remains damaged after the attacks, which could lead to power shortages.
Power outage schedules may return due to the heat wave, Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolesnyk said during a telethon, UNN reports.

“The heat is coming back. We see the temperature rising. No restriction schedules were applied today and none are planned for tomorrow. Severe weather can lead to an increase in electricity consumption. Especially when it's a fairly high, sustained temperature,” said Kolesnyk.
Kolesnyk clarified that the power system remains damaged after eight massive complex attacks by the Russian occupiers on energy infrastructure facilities, which could lead to a shortage of electricity.
Active work is currently underway to restore energy infrastructure facilities, the Deputy Energy Minister noted.
“This is one of the largest repair campaigns to ensure that the maximum amount of equipment is ready for the next heating season,” Kolesnyk said.
