ARMA without agents: lawyer explains why the agency cannot use cover numbers
Kyiv • UNN
ARMA employees cannot use cars with cover plates because they do not have operatives. The lawyer explained that such license plates can only be used by agencies with operational officers, such as the SBU, the MIA, and the NABU.
Employees of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) cannot use cars with cover numbers because they do not have operatives. This was stated by lawyer Oleksandr Baidyk in an exclusive commentary to UNN.
"They can't (ARMA - ed.). They have no operatives, they have no right to use cover numbers," the lawyer said.
He emphasized that the cover numbers can be used by the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the NABU, i.e. all bodies that have operatives.
"As for the punishment, it's an administrative offense, a fine, and that's it. If they don't have normal license plates, they can take the car to the impound lot. If they do, they will simply change them and there will be a small fine - 340 UAH and that's it," says Oleksandr Baidyk.
In his opinion, ARMA employees simply do not want to disclose their vehicles, so they resort to such methods.
Context
After failing to sell the yacht of former traitor MP Viktor Medvedchuk, the Asset Recovery and Management Agency has found itself in a new scandal. According to the press service of Gulliver in response to a request from UNN, ARMA employees arrived in a gray BMW X5 with license plate KA1614RT. However, as it turned out, this license plate was not registered in the MIA databases, which indicates that the ARMA officers were using cover plates.
So it turns out that Olena Duma, who calls herself "ARMA's mother," has become so comfortable with the role of head of the Asset Recovery Agency that she sent her agents to search for Gulliver in a car with cover numbers?
