Ukraine's ambassador to the Vatican says that Pope Francis' visit to Ukraine will be an important signal to the world, but Ukraine cannot accept the symbol of a "white flag.
Ukraine's ambassador to the Vatican, Andriy Yurash, said that Pope Francis' visit to Ukraine will send a signal to the whole world. Commenting on the interview with Pope Francis, Yurash said that "we do not agree and cannot accept the symbol of the white flag." He said this in an interview with Sky TG24, according to UNN.

"At any moment, if the Holy Father decides to visit Ukraine, it will be very important not only for the country, but will become a signal, a symbol for the whole world," said Andriy Yurash, Ukraine's ambassador to the Holy See.
Yurash also commented on Pope Francis' interview in which he spoke about raising the "white flag" and relations with Russia. "Certainly, Cardinal Parolin's explanation was very useful for understanding the position of the Pope and the Holy See," he said.
"We do not agree and cannot accept the symbol of the white flag," the ambassador repeated.
"We are on the same wave of peace and negotiations, and Ukraine has already taken important steps in this direction," he added.
