The minister of asylum and migration, Marjoline Faber, banned him from entering the country for 20 years. This measure is considered exceptional and is applied only in cases that pose a threat to national security.
Based on information’. The 43-year-old engineer is suspected of stealing technical documentation that could support the Russian production of microchips. It is noted that while working in Mapper Lithography and ASML, the man transmitted confidential data, for which he received several tens of thousands of euros.
ASML confirmed the theft information and submitted relevant reports to the competent authorities. However, the company declined to comment on the details of the lawsuit.
The engineer, who holds several patents in the field of semiconductors, continues to be held in custody. Next Monday, he will appear in court in Rotterdam, where the issue of his preventive measure will be considered.
