A report that a road traffic accident occurred on the M-14 highway "Odesa-Melitopol-Novoazovsk" between the villages of Krasne and Nechayane was received today, July 4, at about 7:40 a.m.
According to preliminary data, the driver of the route minibus Mercedes Sprinter, which was traveling from the city of Odesa to the city of Mykolaiv with passengers, drove off the roadway, subsequently overturned and uncontrollably entered the oncoming traffic lane, where a collision occurred with a Volvo truck.
Preliminarily, as a result of the accident, 9 people died and another 8 were injured.
Investigators from the department for investigating crimes committed in transport of the investigative department of the regional police headquarters are working at the scene. Patrol police inspectors are regulating traffic and ensuring safety for other road users.
