The accident occurred today at 7: 40 on the Dnieper embankment.
The head of the Toyota, moving at high speed at a forbidding traffic light signal, hit a 52-year-old woman who was crossing the road at a regulated pedestrian crossing, after which he collided with a Hyundai car. As a result of the impact, the victim received injuries incompatible with life and died on the spot. The driver and passenger of the Hyundai were not injured.
The attacker and his passenger left the car and fled the scene, but they were soon detained by patrol policemen.
As it turned out, both shortly before the accident consumed alcohol and were in a state of alcoholic intoxication: the driver — 1.15 ppm, his friend — 0.66 ppm.
The culprit of the accident faces up to 10 years in prison, his passenger can be jailed for 3 years.
