World leaders congratulate Ukraine on the anniversary of Independence and express support

Leaders from around the world congratulated Ukraine on its Independence Day. They expressed support in the fight against Russian aggression and reaffirmed their desire to see Ukraine join the EU.

Today, August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 33rd anniversary of its independence. Leaders from around the world have expressed their congratulations to Ukraine. This was reported by UNN

In particular, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the leaders of Germany, Ireland, Moldova, Norway, Iceland, as well as the Deputy Secretary General of NATO and the President of the European Council congratulated Ukraine and the Ukrainian people on Independence Day. 

 Happy Independence Day to your country. This day stands for sovereignty, freedom and democracy, shared values that you defend with exceptional courage and determination. In your brave struggle against Russia's brutal aggression, we will continue to support you for as long as it takes. We will not stop until you have secured a just and lasting peace. We are proud to call you our friends today and in our common European future. Glory to Ukraine!

As President of the European Council Charles Michel emphasized, "Today is your Independence Day, and the EU is on your side more than ever. Because in the EU, we all know that you are fighting bravely for your future. You are fighting for your land and for your children. But we also know that you are fighting for our common future, and we know that your future is in the EU."

Also, Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Federal Chancellor of Austria Carl Negammer, President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Luc Frieden, President of Switzerland Viola Amgerd, President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof sent their congratulations on Ukraine's Independence Day.
