US President Donald Trump said that the outcome of negotiations with Iran will become clear in the near future – within 24 hours. He said this in an interview with the New York Post, UNN reports.

According to Trump, the current negotiations are key to determining the further development of the situation – either the parties will reach agreements, or the conflict may escalate.

At the same time, the US President emphasized that the American military is already preparing for a possible negative scenario. In particular, according to him, US warships are being rearmed with modern weapon systems.

Negotiations on a settlement after the announced truce are to take place in Islamabad. Key issues include Iran's transfer of enriched uranium stockpiles, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping, and restrictions on its missile program.
Trump also expressed doubt about Tehran's position, noting that the Iranian side's statements often contradict each other.
