The Israeli Parliament approved a law that allows the government to temporarily ban foreign news networks, such as Al Jazeera, from operating in Israel if they pose a threat to national security.
White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said that if reports that Israel is trying to close the Al Jazeera news outlet are true, it would be "deeply disturbing." This is reported by The Jerusalem Post, according to UNN.

On Monday night, April 1, the Israeli Knesset approved the so-called Al Jazeera law, which gives the government temporary powers to ban foreign news networks from operating in Israel if security services believe they are harming national security.
Israel has previously accused the station of agitating against it among Arab viewers.
