Ukraine's aviation service is ready to resume 95% of flights, but ensuring passenger safety is key. To launch flights, “serious” air defense means are needed, said Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister of Community and Territorial Development, in an interview with Suspilne, reports UNN.

The security architecture envisages very serious air defense capabilities, which are currently being used as intended in the country. Therefore, when we have enough air defense for a particular airport, we will be able to talk about it. Today, unfortunately, this is not feasible
According to him, it takes about 45-50 days from the moment the decision is made to the launch of flights in Lviv or Boryspil.
Answering the question whether it is possible to hope for the reopening of air traffic in 2025, Kuleba said that everything will depend on the situation at the front. “Of course, we can hope. But to be realistic, we can only talk about this with an eye to the frontline. As with all other issues related to the development of our country - first of all, the frontline, and then any other development,” Kuleba said.
