Ukraine has submitted applications and risk assessments to U.S. and European aviation regulators to resume civilian air service at one of its airports, although no timeline has been set due to complex security issues.

Ukraine has put the process of resuming air traffic into practice by providing a vision of the process of resuming air traffic to American and European regulators. This was stated by diplomat, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Sybiga during a telethon, UNN reports.

First, air travel is a necessary element of the sustainability of the state's economy. Of course, these issues are important for Ukraine. At the end of last year, the head of the office, Andriy Yermak, announced the start of the process to restore air traffic or open one of the airports in Ukraine 

- Sibiga said.

He added that the resumption of air traffic is a complex issue that contains several elements, namely: the security element related to air defense, technical issues.

"Today, this process has been transferred to the practical plane. The modalities of resuming air traffic and the vision of the process have been communicated to two regulators, the European regulator, which authorizes such flights, and the American regulator. These visions have been submitted to these competent authorities and let's wait for further development," added Sibiga.

According to him, Ukraine's goal is to resume civilian air traffic on the basis of one of the airports.
