What is celebrated on June 12 in Ukraine and the world
Kyiv • UNN
Ukraine congratulates stock market workers, while the world fights against child labor. June 12 also marks Superman Day and the feast day of saints.

This summer day is marked by important global initiatives for the protection of children's rights, Ukrainian professional holidays, as well as a strict day of fasting in the Orthodox calendar, reports UNN.
Stock Market Worker's Day in Ukraine
This is an official professional holiday established by a presidential decree in 2008. It is celebrated by specialists who ensure the functioning of the securities market, investment bankers, brokers, and analysts. The date was not chosen by chance: it was on June 12, 1990, that the legislative body of the then-Ukrainian SSR adopted the decision to transition to a market economy.
World Day Against Child Labour
An important international date established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002. The purpose of this day is to draw the attention of governments, businesses, and society to the horrific problem of child exploitation. According to statistics, millions of children in the world are still deprived of a normal childhood and access to education, and are forced to work in dangerous conditions.

Peter of Athos was the first hermit to settle on Mount Athos (Holy Mountain) in the 7th century.
