"We will not forget any crime against our people" - Zelenskyy on the anniversary of the Olenivka tragedy

On the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Olenivka, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored the memory of Ukrainian prisoners of war killed by Russia on the night of July 28-29, 2022. The President emphasized that Ukraine will not forget the crimes of the Russian Federation against its people. Zelenskyy stated this on Telegram, reports UNN.

"Every year on these days, we in Ukraine honor the memory of our people killed in Russian captivity. On the night of July 28-29, the Russians killed our people in Olenivka — brutally, treacherously, and with absolute cynicism. More than 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war died, over 100 were wounded. And this is one of those war crimes that shows what Russia really is. It is a state that completely despises life, absolute evil that cannot refrain from killing. We must always remember who we are dealing with," Zelenskyy wrote.

He added that Ukraine must return all our people — both military and civilian — from Russian captivity.

"It is important that Ukraine is not alone in this aspiration, and our friends in the world help us with mediation. During the full-scale war, we have already managed to return 9,613 people from Russian captivity. We remember everyone who still remains in captivity. We will not forget any crime against our people. Eternal memory to all who died because of Russian evil. Eternal gratitude to everyone who helps free our people and protect lives," Zelenskyy added.

More than four years after the bloody terrorist attack in Olenivka, 46 severely wounded Ukrainian prisoners of war who survived the explosion in "barracks No. 200" continue to languish in Russian dungeons without proper medical care and under the threat of fabricated sentences in criminal cases.
