Hungary's ruling party has re-elected Viktor Orban as president. Hungary blocks new EU sanctions against Russia
In Hungary, the congress of the ruling Fidesz party re-elected Prime Minister Viktor Orban as its president. [Orban was the only candidate who received 1,190 votes, Népszava reports, UNN writes.

At the Hungarian party congress, the chairman of the commission Károly Kontrat announced that delegates had voted for the president and four vice presidents.
Viktor Orban was the only candidate who received 1190 votes. He will again be president of the ruling party for two years.
It is noted that Orban was president of Fidesz from 1993 to 2000 and since 2003 without a break, he was last re-elected as party president two years ago, at a renewed congress in November 2021.
