US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin assured Ukraine of his support in Kyiv. According to a Pentagon spokesman, the talks between the US delegation and Ukrainian officials will discuss Ukraine's urgent needs for combat operations in winter, as well as plans for further military assistance, UNN reports citing Voice of America.

According to the publication, Ukraine has received more than $44 billion worth of weapons from the United States and more than $35 billion from other partners, but this fall, the issue of American military aid to Ukraine became the subject of budgetary disputes in Congress.
The publication reports that Pentagon officials, while acknowledging the congressional debate, point to "clear bipartisan support" for security assistance to Ukraine.
"We continue to believe that Congress will be supportive. and we plan ahead based on that belief," the newspaper quoted one official as saying, also acknowledging that possible changes in the position of U.S. lawmakers would mean that some long-term plans for Ukraine would need to be revised.
