Ukraine will receive more than 2.5 thousand UAVs worth EUR 4 million from Latvia

In July, Latvia will hand over more than 2,500 combat drones worth 4 million euros to Ukraine as part of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Coalition.

In July, Latvia will hand over another batch of military aid to Ukraine - more than 2,500 drones worth 4 million euros. The first batch of 300 drones will be delivered in the coming days. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the Latvian Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry of Defense announces that in July, another package of drones will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in stages as part of the UAV Coalition. More than 2,500 combat drones of various types and characteristics will be delivered to Ukraine for a total of 4 million euros

As noted, the first batch of 300 drones will be delivered in the coming days.

Drones manufactured by seven Latvian companies will be sent.

This year, Latvia has allocated 20 million euros to the Drone Coalition, of which more than 10 million euros are earmarked for the purchase of UAVs from the Latvian defense industry. In April and May of this year, Latvia sent 135 combat drones and electronic warfare equipment of various capacities to Ukraine worth about 1 million euros. The Ministry of Defense will continue to purchase Latvian-made combat drones, primarily FPV drones, until the end of the year.

Currently, the International Drone Coalition includes 14 countries: Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In total, the member countries of the drone coalition have so far allocated more than half a billion euros to supply drones to Ukraine. The member states are also working to create a joint fund that will allow for faster and more efficient use of funds for drone production in the coalition countries.
