Ukraine is working on restoring port operations in 24/7 mode - Koretsky

The government, the diplomatic corps, and all responsible state institutions are working 24/7 to restore the normal operation of the ports. This issue is under the personal control of the President of Ukraine. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi reported this, UNN reports. 

I want to separately emphasize and speak about the situation in the Black Sea basin. The situation is quite difficult. The operation of seaports is critical for Ukraine. This is our economy, exports, and foreign currency earnings. This issue is under the personal control of the President of Ukraine. The government, the diplomatic corps, and all responsible state institutions are working 24/7 to resolve this problem. A special role and involvement of our military — much depends on them 

He noted that Ukraine coordinates work with international partners, constantly informs about Russian terror, and works on diversifying supply channels.

Today, the Black Sea basin is a zone of the highest level of danger. To understand the scale: the export of the Black Sea basin constitutes a significant share of the entire global wheat export. Global disruptions in the supply of agricultural crops will undoubtedly lead to a rise in world prices. Prices will also inevitably increase in the domestic markets of importing countries 

According to him, according to Ukraine's estimates, inflationary pressure could reach about 60 billion dollars on an annual basis, and if we take into account that prices for other agricultural crops will also rise, the pressure on the global economy could reach up to 150 billion dollars annually.

And this is certainly not only an economic issue, it is a matter of food security. Therefore, everything must be done to prevent this. At the same time, inside Ukraine we currently see a surplus of grain, and this has already affected the reduction of prices. From a worldview and long-term perspective, we need to continue the strategy of developing domestic processing. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy together with the Ministry of Economy and the entire government are already actively working in this direction. I also instructed to ensure support programs for farmers in the current conditions 

Let us recall 

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is deliberately attacking Ukrainian agricultural enterprises and ports, which could again provoke a global food crisis.
