Ukraine and Portugal discuss defense cooperation and supply of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and Portugal held a telephone conversation on cooperation in the defense industry. The parties discussed financing for the production and supply of drones and scheduled a meeting at Ramstein.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov had a telephone conversation with Portuguese Defense Minister Nuno Melo. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Details
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the defense industry, in particular, Umerov suggested that Portugal consider financing Ukrainian production in 2025. They also agreed to hold consultations on the development of the Ukrainian defense industry.
Special attention was paid to the supply of drones.
Umerov and Melu plan to meet in person in January as part of the next Ramstein meeting to discuss further steps to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.
