Since the beginning of the day, 173 combat engagements have taken place, primarily in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions. The occupiers launched over 4,000 drones and 176 air bombs.
173 battles have occurred at the front since the beginning of the current day, about a third of which took place in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions, the General Staff of the AFU reported in a summary as of 10 p.m. on May 23, UNN writes.

The enemy carried out 55 air strikes, dropping 176 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they deployed 4,177 kamikaze drones for strikes and carried out 1,954 shellings of populated areas and positions of our troops.
Situation by directions
In the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, one combat clash took place today. The enemy carried out 50 shellings of populated areas and positions of our troops.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units three times in the area of Petro-Ivanivka and Starytsia. One combat clash is ongoing.
In the Kupiansk direction, no enemy offensive actions were recorded today.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attempts by the invaders to advance in the areas of the settlements of Yampil, Lyman, Zarichne, Dibrova, and Ozerne.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two attempts by the invaders to move forward in the areas of the settlements of Zakitne and Kryva Luka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
The Defense Forces repelled 14 enemy assaults in the Kostiantynivka direction near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Kostiantynivka, Stepanivka, Illinivka, Toretske, Kucheriv Yar, and Sofiivka. One combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy carried out 36 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske, and towards the settlements of Shevchenko, Bilytske, and Novopavlivka. One combat clash is still ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, 48 occupiers were liquidated and 12 wounded in this direction today; three units of motor vehicles and eight units of special equipment of the enemy were destroyed, as well as one UAV control point; five units of motor vehicles and four guns were damaged. 190 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types were destroyed or suppressed.
In the Oleksandrivsk direction, the enemy attacked once in the area of Ternove.
In the Huliaipole direction, 20 attacks by the occupiers took place in the areas of the settlements of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Pryluky, Charivne, Huliaipilske, and towards Nove Zaporizhzhia, Vozdvyzhivka, and Tsvitkove. Currently, six combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, three enemy attacks took place in the areas of Bilohirya, Luhivske, and towards Prymorske. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, no enemy offensive actions were recorded.
In other directions, as indicated, there were no significant changes in the situation.
