There is no shortage of electricity, blackouts in the regions are caused by damaged infrastructure - Ukrenergo
Kyiv • UNN
Ukraine's energy system is operating in a balanced manner, with no electricity shortages, but blackouts in some regions are caused by damage to the power grid as a result of recent Russian attacks on energy facilities.
Currently, no electricity shortages are expected in Ukraine, and blackouts in the regions are caused by damage to the transmission network. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy Company Ukrenergo.
Details
Power engineers continue to work to eliminate the consequences of the hostile attack on energy facilities. The system operates in a balanced manner, there is no electricity shortage at present
It is noted that at one of the CHPPs, the generating equipment was turned off for technological reasons. At the same time, a thermal generation unit was put back into operation after emergency repairs. Commercial electricity imports are also planned.
Consequences of the shelling
Ukrenergo reports that Russian UAVs attacked two substations in the southern region at night. After a night attack by enemy drones in Odesa region, a substation of the National Energy Company Ukrenergo was damaged. 195 thousand consumers are without electricity. . The movement of electric transport was also stopped, and industrial electricity consumption was limited.
Due to the damage to power equipment in Odesa and Odesa region, power companies are forced to extend the periods of consumption restrictions.
This is necessary to protect the surviving equipment from overloading, which can cause additional technological damage
The Ministry of Energy said that the strike in Odesa region resulted in the shutdown of a wind farm and a local thermal power plant. In addition, the enemy attacked a substation of NPC Ukrenergo in Mykolaiv region. The consequences of the attack are being assessed.
Meanwhile, all consumers in Khmelnytsky region have been supplied with electricity, but network restrictions may be introduced during peak electricity consumption hours (in the morning and evening).
The Ministry of Energy adds that a fire and gas leak have been localized at a gas facility in Lviv region that was attacked by the enemy. The situation is under control. There is no threat to gas supplies to consumers.
The situation in Kharkiv region remains the most difficult. Emergency repair works at the affected power facilities continue 24/7. Specialists of Ukrenergo and regional power distribution companies are working to create backup power supply schemes for consumers
Import/Export
During the day, Ukraine plans to import from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 14,870 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,271 MW in some hours.
