It is noted that the United States is preparing to announce a military aid package to Ukraine totaling $1.25 billion. This will be part of the efforts of President Joe Biden's administration to provide Kyiv with as much assistance as possible before he leaves office on January 20.
The large aid package includes a significant amount of ammunition, including for the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System and the HAWK air defense system. It also includes Stinger missiles and 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells
American officials spoke on condition of anonymity about expectations that the announcement will be made next Monday, December 30.
