A fire at an industrial facility following the Russian attack in Ternopil region has led to a significant excess of chlorine in the air. The situation has not yet changed, but chlorine compounds are unstable and quickly decay.

In the Ternopil region, chlorine levels in the air were recorded up to 10 times higher than normal as a result of a fire at an industrial facility due to a nighttime Russian attack. Currently, the situation has not changed, but chlorine compounds are unstable, so they decay quite quickly under favorable conditions. This was stated by Viktor Ustenko, deputy head of the Ternopil RMA, during a briefing, UNN reports.

The Center for Disease Prevention continues to monitor the air quality. The situation has not yet changed, but I would like to note that chlorine compounds are unstable, so they decay quite quickly under favorable conditions

- Ustenko said.
